Handmade jewelry -A golden touch
Jewelry designer and goldsmith Charlotte Vogel has been making her mark for a few years now. In her atelier with store in Baarn for the past 6 years, she has been making jewelry from design to finished product by herself, and now with several collaborators. Her inspiration comes from (interior) architecture - especially Amsterdam School - and music or the artist.
Influences from pop culture are also there. Although it sounds contradictory, Prince in particular is a big inspiration. The androgynous fearlessness in the person of Prince can be found in Charlotte's jewelry in a distinct color choice. Almost all of the jewelry is set with bright colorful gemstones that give the pieces the bold character Charlotte Vogel aims for.
A selection of the jewelry will be exhibited on a small scale in a building on Hobbemastraat 3, next to the Park Central Hotel and at the head of P.C. Hooftstraat. The exhibition will open on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 3 p.m. with a reception and can be visited all week thereafter. Free tickets that can be ordered at www.thegoldxperience.com will give a chance to win a diamond worth €300. Saturday, Sept. 26, the expo closes with the drawing of the winner of the diamond.
* Charlotte Vogel owns jewelry brand and store The Gold Xperience. The entire collection is updated weekly with new pieces and can be viewed and purchased in the store in Baarn from Tuesday through Saturday. More information and collections can be found at www.thegoldxperience.com.
