From this, you can cut a paper tape measure that you can wrap around your finger and on it you can then read exactly the right ring size. This paper ring gauge when printed out on regular A-4 size already has the correct dimensions, so you can cut out the figure, cut it in and put it on. The image on this page shows you how to do that.
