Custom wedding rings: color, shape, and meaning

Choosing wedding rings is a special moment. Rings that you wear every day, that last a lifetime, and that are not only beautiful but also say something about who you are. In my studio in Werkendam (municipality of Altena), I make wedding rings entirely by hand, tailored to personal wishes, style, and symbolism.

The rings in these photos show how different wedding rings can be, while still forming a whole.

Different styles, one story

From sleek and timeless to refined and expressive

Some couples opt for a simple, classic wedding ring with a smooth finish. Other couples are drawn to more detail, texture, or gemstones. Both choices are equally valuable.

In these examples, you can see two different styles:

  • a sleek, timeless ring with a smooth polished surface

  • a refined ring with texture, diamond details, and a central gemstone

Together they tell one story, but each with its own character.

Choice of gold types

Yellow gold, white gold, or rose gold

All wedding rings are made in the gold color that suits you best. This can be classic yellow gold, fresh white gold, or warm rose gold. Combinations are also possible.

The rings shown are made of:

  • rose gold with a ruby

  • yellow gold with a green tourmaline

Each shade of gold has its own look and feel. During a consultation, we will work with you to find the shade that best suits your wishes and skin tone.

Gemstones with personal significance

Colored stones as symbols

More and more couples are choosing colored stones for their wedding rings. Not only because of their beauty, but also because of their meaning.

  • Ruby stands for love, strength, and connection.

  • Green tourmaline symbolizes growth, balance, and confidence.

Of course, other gemstones are also possible. Together, we discuss color, cut, and placement, so that the stone truly becomes part of the design.

Handmade wedding rings in my studio

Craftsmanship and attention to detail

Every wedding ring is handmade from start to finish in my studio. This means attention to detail, sturdy settings, and a finish that is comfortable to wear, even after many years.

Not a standard collection, but rings that are created in consultation, step by step.

Curious about the possibilities?
