The first weeks in Werkendam
The move of my studio to Werkendam is now complete. The workshop is fully operational, and the first few weeks here have felt like an intense but wonderful start. Between unpacking boxes, reorganizing tools, and finding my rhythm in a new place, I have mainly continued to do what I love most: working on jewelry with meaning.
Getting used to a new place
Every move takes time. Not only in practical terms, but also emotionally. A new building, a new town, new faces. At the same time, Werkendam felt open and accessible from the start. That gave me peace of mind and confidence to just get on with my work, as I always do.
First assignments and repairs
In the first few weeks, I was already able to carry out several repairs for customers from Werkendam and the surrounding area. From subtly and invisibly repairing a broken chain to resizing wedding rings that had become too small over the years. It is remarkable to see how much trust people immediately place in a goldsmith they have only just met.
A major assignment as confirmation
Within a week of opening, I was also able to take on a larger commission. Moments like that feel like confirmation that moving to Werkendam was the right decision. It's very special when someone chooses my studio, my way of working, and my signature style.
Many requests for wedding rings
What immediately stands out is the number of requests for handmade wedding rings. Couples from both the municipality of Altena and the surrounding region now know where to find me. Several projects are waiting in the studio for the coming months, from initial sketches to rings that will soon be worn for a lifetime.
Work in Baarn continues
At the same time, I am also working on assignments that started in Baarn. Wedding rings, repairs, and other custom work that traveled with me to Werkendam. It's nice that those customers remain loyal to me while new connections are being formed at the same time.
Werkendam, Altena, and far beyond
My service area is Werkendam, the municipality of Altena, and the surrounding region. However, customers from all over the country find their way to my work through the webshop. For example, Judaica, but also other jewelry from my collections and custom-made pieces continue to find their place online alongside the work in the studio.
Reopening drinks on Saturday, January 24
To celebrate this new phase, I would like to invite everyone from Werkendam and the surrounding area to the reopening drinks party on Saturday, January 24, starting at 4 p.m. It will be a chance to get acquainted, view the studio, and toast to what lies ahead. With bubbles, bites, and a peek behind the scenes!
On to the next chapters
The first few weeks in Werkendam feel like a solid foundation. With confidence, exciting assignments, and new encounters. I look forward to everything that may develop here in the future.
