Relocation on the horizon: from Baarn to Werkendam
The coming period will be marked by change. After a wonderful time in Baarn, I am preparing to move my studio to Werkendam. A new place, with its own unique character, but at the same time well-kept, well-maintained, and completely contemporary. It is the kind of building that immediately feels right: authentic, but ready for a new chapter.
A building with character and a fresh look
This week, a lot of hard work has been done on the exterior. The façade has been painted in sleek matte black and adorned with gold lettering. Subtle, clear, and perfectly in line with my corporate identity. It gives the building a sense of calm and strength, and immediately makes it clear what you can expect here.
Inside, the walls have now been painted and gold paneling has been installed. This adds warmth and depth to the space and creates a calm, elegant backdrop that will show off the jewelry to its best advantage. Fresh, distinctive, and recognizable.
The final steps
The new display cases will be installed next week. This will be followed by an important next step: the lighting plan. This will be carefully designed and implemented, with a focus on optimal lighting for the jewelry and a warm, pleasant atmosphere at the consultation table. Lighting makes a difference in how jewelry is experienced, but also in how conversations feel. After that, it's time for fine-tuning: dotting the i's and crossing the t's, putting everything in its place.
Wedding season in full swing
In addition to all the preparations for the new studio, the workbench is well stocked, with a striking number of orders for wedding rings. January, February, and March are popular months for weddings, which means that there is now a lot of designing, fitting, and crafting going on. Each couple has their own wishes, stories, and symbolism, and it is precisely this personal translation into a ring that makes this work so special.
Meanwhile, the studio continues to operate
Even aside from wedding rings, it is a busy period. Many people want their jewelry ready in time for the holidays. Repairs, restorations, and gifts all come together at once. To ensure that everything is completed carefully and on time, I have called in extra help for the smaller repairs, so that I can continue to focus on custom work and wedding rings.
Looking ahead
The combination of a new studio, a full workbench, and so many special commissions makes this period intense, but also rewarding. Everything is moving at once, toward Werkendam and toward a new chapter. Step by step, everything is falling into place. More to follow soon.
