Tired but fulfilled

Tired but satisfied we are
... but what a wonderful time we had again! The Christmas season and New Year are traditionally busy times for us and so were the past holidays. Of course throughout the year we are working solidly on the collection and also on commissioned jewelry. But starting in October, we've been busy trying to get all the jewelry and commissioned jewelry we get to make for under the Christmas tree finished in time. And we succeeded again! We started 2020 tired but satisfied....
It’s always a pleasure to create a piece of jewelry tailored to a client’s personal taste. We’re often asked to transform heirloom gold or family gold into a new, contemporary piece, designed entirely to the client’s liking. Old brooches with blood coral or classic rings with a large carnelian—jewelry that people no longer wear these days. The question then is whether I can turn it into something modern. And fortunately, almost anything is possible. We sit down with the customer for an in-depth discussion and present all the possibilities. For example, you can melt down the old gold and create something entirely new, but you can also choose to modify the original piece of jewelry to turn it into a modern and unique piece. Last year, for instance, I had the opportunity to create quite a few pendants and rings from old wedding bands, among other things.
Of course, we have also been working on the collection and expanding it. In particular, we have added many colorful gemstones such as emerald, garnet, and of course black and white diamonds to the collection of stud earrings and earrings over the past year. One of the latest additions is a beautiful set of shoulder dusters (slim long earrings) in 14kt yellow gold with a large emerald.
For the year 2020 there is again a lot of work on the agenda. The "Florence" collection will be expanded with a gold variant with saltwater pearl, and a new series will be added with the starting point again being architecture (as with "Amsterdam"), but this time the Moorish and Arabic architectural style. The new line will be called "Cordoba."
